10 Money Habits of Wealthy Women

This post is about money habits of wealthy women.

In the era of student debt and high expenses, it sometimes seems hopeless to achieve the lifestyle that you dream of. But I am here to tell you that financial freedom is well within your reach.

Small steps and a little bit of patience will help you reach your financial goals and allow you to alleviate the burden of living paycheck-to-paycheck.

1. Budget

There are countless methods of budgeting, but not every method will work for every person. In order to make your budget sustainable, you will need to establish your values, and be sure that you are able to meet your needs and fulfill your wants (in moderation). I find that successful budgets save out money for paying bills and buying necessities, allow for some spending money, while saving a portion of each paycheck.

2. Live Below Your Means

Living below your means is one of the keys to financial success. This tip will help you save so much money and eliminate a lot of unnecessary spending. Especially with social media, it’s easy to get caught up in living a luxurious lifestyle, one that oftentimes, we can’t actually afford. The longer that you’re able to live below your means, the closer you’ll transition into affording your dream life.

3. Eliminate Your Limiting Beliefs

Believe it or not, your mindset could be holding you back from achieving your financial goals. You may think that you will never be wealthy, or that you are not deserving of a promotion or a raise. A great way of eliminating these limiting beliefs, is to practice self affirmations. Here is a list of 100 positive affirmations that will help you to shift your mindset.

4. Set Financial Goals

Setting realistic financial goals will help you track your progress and motivate you to stick to your budget. It is important that you make sure that your goals are challenging you, while remaining sustainable. Start off by setting small goals that are guaranteed to be achievable. As you move forward, challenge yourself further and continue to set bigger and bigger goals for yourself.

5. Have Multiple Savings Accounts

Having multiple savings accounts will allow you to more effectively budget your money and meet your financial goals. For example, if you have an emergency fund, in the case of an emergency, you wouldn’t have to dip into your savings account. Another example is retirement accounts. People that open retirement accounts at a young age and add money consistently are almost guaranteed to be wealthy in their retirement.

6. Pay Off Your Loans

The faster you pay off your loans, the more flexibility you will have on your path to financial freedom. As you pay off your loans, you will be able to add more spending/leisure money to your budget. A great way of paying off your loans sooner than their lifetime, is to pay more than your monthly payment. This is something that you can include in your budget planning and financial goals.

7. Don’t Spend Money You Don’t Have

Credit cards make it really easy to dig yourself a hole by spending money that you don’t have. This will only benefit the need for instant gratification, but ultimately, will make your life a lot harder. Getting yourself into debt and having credit cards to pay off will slow down your progress and be a huge obstacle in your journey towards financial freedom.

8. Have Multiple Streams of Income

Having multiple streams of income will help you become wealthy faster, and ensure that you won’t be left in a lurch if unseen circumstances arise. The pandemic is a great example of this. If you lose your job and are still able to maintain a few streams of passive income, you won’t be as worse off as you could be. Barring any negative circumstances, multiple streams of income will increase your wealth at a quicker rate.

9. Invest Wisely

Investments can easily make you wealthy if you are investing wisely. Ultimately, the key here is to be making more money that you spent. There are a lot of factors to think about when investing, so it would be wise to do thorough research and consult with people that have experience. Examples of valuable investments include stocks, real-estate, and a 401K. Investing can be complicated, but when right, very worth your while.

10. Be Patient

Finances can be both frustrating and discouraging. At times it will be difficult to remain patient and keep pushing forward towards your goals. However, with patience and consistency you will inch closer and closer towards financial freedom. These tips are not a “get rich quick” plan. Most often, wealth comes with time. There are certain to be times that you feel discouraged and want to give up, but I cannot stress enough how important consistency is.

Hopefully this post helped you to learn some habits of wealthy women.

Finally, the empowerment of women is being recognized and celebrated. For years, when people thought of wealthy, they thought of men. As women, we are more than capable of building our own wealth and creating our own dream lives.

Anything worth having comes with its challenges. Remain patient, consistent, and motivated. You have control over your future, so build a life that you love!
